Transit & Fleet Task Force meeting 220712

Agenda

Action Items review

  1. Review transit systems for approval from staging into production.  Review the TRPs and impressions for individual transit systems, approve measures (Task Force)

  2. Research any available station ridership data breaking out platforms or lines in comparison to the concourse (Geopath)

  3. Evaluate ways to facilitate creating packages (Geopath)

    1. Known Issue - Inventory Plan does not populate “max units” field.

  4. Test Market Plan for Station Interior inventory and post any feedback or useful examples of output. (Geopath and Task Force)

Station Interior – Placement Type data

We previously reviewed the changes to the methodology for station interior placement type.  One request was for any observed data which would confirm the station interior methodology.  We were able to find turnstile data for NYC MTA subway broken out by Station, Division and Line name with entries and exits.  When the station name and division name are the same, we are assuming a common station concourse and the underlying Line names are various platforms. The breakout of the Platform to Concourse number represents an estimated percentage of station ridership at that platform. This analysis is more applicable to smaller stations with fewer lines as larger stations have complexities of additional floors and shared line data.

The Placement Exposure being used distributes the ridership across the platforms.  Rather than assuming that all ridership passes through all platforms, we show that they take at least one platform while having the ability to view more than one platform. For example, if there is one level, a rider would have the ability to view a platform across the tracks.

We will be following up with additional contextual data for a group of stations.

Facilitate Package creation

The workflow to create a package starts at the Market Plan where you can add a system wide designation or places whether they be garages or stations. This would provide a target of the number of units required to reach your campaign goals. You could move into Explore to review and select specific Spot IDs.  An inventory set is created to bring into Workspace.  Once in the Inventory Plan of Workspace, you can fine tune your package by entering the number of units for each spot.

A known issue is that the max number of units is not currently populating in the staging version of the Insights Suite.  This field should show the maximum quantity of units for that spot.  We’ve notified our UI team of this issue and will be able to provide updates.

Administrative note

I am out of the office the week of the 18th and next week’s meeting will be canceled.  We are available to address any items in the data.
