Venue Dwell (Minutes)

The place (venue) dwell time in minutes

Extended Dwell (Seconds)

The extended dwell time in seconds, is only used if the ‘ext dwell pct’ is greater than 0%.

Dwell Passing (Seconds)

The passing dwell time in seconds

Dwell Override (Minutes)

The dwell time override in minutes used when we have studies to indicate the time spend at placement type such as at checkout line where studies have indicated an extended dwell of 3 minutes.

Ext Dwell Pct

Indicates the percentage of passing verses extended dwell. If listed at 100% then all visitors are considered to be under extended dwell. On the other hand if dwell is listed at 50% then half of the visitors are passing and the other half are in extended dwell. Please note that specific rules are determine by the place type and placement type of where the frame is located.

This attribute is coming from Motionworks and is only used for the 2024 forecast. This indicates the data source if there is an outside source being used such as a first party data source. For example, this will include if Motionworks is using the ridership count from a transit agency or enplanement counts from Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS).

This attribute is coming from Motionworks and is only used for the 2024 forecast. Indicates what type the data source is.

Sitdown Restaurant

Dining facility where the majority of patrons sit at a table to order food.

Quick Serve Restaurant

Dining facility where patrons order food from a counter then sit or leave to eat.

Convenience Store

Location that offers a variety of goods for purchase. Usually a quick shopping experience such as a store in a gas station or a bodega.

Grocery Store

A business mainly specialized in distribution of groceries.

Transit Hub

A multi-modal transportation stop. Usually multi-platform and allows pedestrians to transfer between trains/busses/streetcar/light rail/etc.

A stop along a transit line that is unique to one mode of public transportation.

Commercial Airport

Publicly owned airports that have at least 2,500 passenger boardings each calendar year and receive scheduled passenger service.

Shopping Mall

Residential Facility

Pedestrian Plaza

An open urban public space where pedestrians can gather. Usually located on a street or between buildings.

Hospital

A facility providing medical and surgical treatment and nursing care for sick or injured people.

Airport Concourse

A building or portion of an airport that allows passengers direct access to boarding gates.

Airport Terminal

A building or portion of an airport where passengers transfer between ground transportation and the facilities that allow them to board and disembark from an aircraft. Within the terminal, passengers purchase tickets, transfer their luggage, and go through security

Fraternal Organization

A facility where a society, club or fraternal order associated together for various religious or secular aims congregate.

Tourist Attraction
