Account - Policy

An account contains the member company name (Parent Account Name) as well as the name of the location (Account Name) where the inventory is located. Note that the location name is at the discretion of the company.

The following indicates roles and responsibilities of our members.

Actions:

Players will be able to create, read, update, and delete based on their roles and responsibilities.

To create is to add one or more entries (inventory) to the database

To read is to retrieve data based on different criteria within the database

To update is to change and modify records without overwriting within the database

To delete is to remove one or more entries (inventory) within the database

 

Role:

To define roles, we need to first define the different levels of permission and types that the out-of-home players will have access to.

Permission levels and types are established by Geopath in conjunction with the media buyer or seller and are divided into two types.

Type 1 allows the account to have access to all levels of permission.

Type 2 allows the account to only have access to permission levels 1 and 2.

Level 1 allows only for visibility into the Geopath database this includes the metrics and media inventory.

Level 2 allows for visibility and suggestions to the media inventory.

Level 3 allows for visibility and certain changes to the media inventory and any changes would need to be reviewed by Geopath or the administrator.

Level 4 allows for visibility and all changes, but any changes need to be reviewed by Geopath or the administrator.

Level 5 allows for visibility and all changes with no additional review needed by Geopath.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the players can be divided into 5 user types. These user types will be defined by Geopath in conjunction with the media buyer and/or seller.

Administrator: Users who are administrators have the most permission of any of the other user types. They can update, read, create, and delete directly to the Geopath database without the review of Geopath. And can approve updates from creators, editors, or explorers within their organization. Outside of their organization the administrator can make suggestions to update, create, and delete. They can read everything. This level of permission is defined as a level - 5.

Creator: Users who are creators can update, read, create, and delete but need to go through Geopath or the administrator within their organization before changes are accepted and implemented in the Geopath database. Outside of their organization, the creator can make suggestions to update, create, and delete. They can read everything. This level of permission is defined as a level - 4.

Editor: Users who are editors can only make certain changes when updating, creating, and deleting within their organization. However, they can read everything. Once changes have been made these will need to go through Geopath or the administrator within their organization before the changes are implemented. Editors do not have permission to suggest outside of their organization. This level of permission is defined as level - 3.

Editors are only able to update non-location attributes this pertains to the geospatial location of a billboard. This would exclude updates to the latitude, longitude, and orientation.

Explorer: Users who are explorers are only able to make suggestions pertaining to updates, creations, and deletions both outside and within their organization. However, they can read everything. Once a suggestion has been made it will need to be reviewed and if valid updated by Geopath or the administrator within the same organization or administrator responsible for the affected inventory. This level of permission is defined as level - 2.

Viewer: Users who are viewers can only read and cannot update, create, or delete. This level of permission is defined as level – 1.

 

Players:

There are two primary players in the out of industry, buyers, and sellers. Buyers include agencies and advertisers. While sellers include media operators, inventory data platforms, applications, and third-party processors.

Buyers

Types of Buyers:

  • Agencies - An agency is an outside party that is planning and handling the advertising of an out-of-home location. An example of this type of company would be Horizon Media.

    • Agencies only can explore and view.

      • Type 2

        • Viewer

  • Advertisers

    • Advertisers only can explore and view. An example of this type of company would be coca cola.

      • Type 2

        • Explorer

        • Viewer

Sellers

Types of Sellers:

  • Media Operators - The media operator is the media owner or leaseholder who operates an out-of-home location or location and is responsible for managing the location. As the manager, they are responsible for maintaining and operating the location. This includes and is not limited to selling, updating the physical ad space with a new creative, etc. An example of this type of company would be Adams.

    • Media operators will have full access to all permission levels

  • Third-Party Processors - The third-party processor is a platform that services the media operator in maintaining their inventory (sometimes) as well as leveraging our API to incorporate metrics into a user interface. Third-party processors have both types of permissions. The permissions will be dependent on whether a media operator has permitted the third-party processor to submit inventory on their behalf. An example of this type of company would be Apparatix.

  • Inventory Data Platforms - The inventory data platform is a platform that services the media operator in maintaining their inventory as well as leveraging our API to incorporate metrics into a user interface that is used by this platform to transact on the media operators' inventory without the involvement of the media operator. There are two types of permissions that Inventory data platforms users can use. Type 1 will be for those media operators who are not Geopath members and allow this inventory data platform to transact on their behalf. While type 2 will be for those that are Geopath members unless specified by the Geopath member that they would like the inventory data platform to also manage their inventory. An example of this type of company would be Adkom.

  • Applications - A platform that enables media operators to view and plan with Geopath’s metrics. An example of this type of company would be Telmar.
