About Usage & Monitoring
API usage is monitored by Geopath at the member organization level down to the specific application level. As a Geopath member, an organization as a whole is able to call the Geopath API a set number of times based on their membership type and tier. This monthly number is across all applications that an organization has registered to it and across all developer accounts an organization has registered to it.
The Geopath API utilizes an Apigee API gateway between the API servers and the client, to manage API keys, caching, rate limits / quotas, and overall usage tracking. In addition to existing API rate limits / quotas and high usage alerts, Geopath continues to hone its API monitoring to better serve the needs to the API developer community and Geopath members.
Geopath will contact the lead developer for an organization when an organization is reaching it’s monthly quota.
A developer can check their current application usage by entering the “My Apps” portion of the API documentation portal, selecting the application they want to analyze, and then clicking the “Analytics” tab where they will be able to break down their usage by different metrics.
Call Cost
The monthly number of calls included in an organization’ Geopath membership depends on the type of Geopath member an organization is. These call numbers are valid for the year 2020. These tiers and call amounts can be found here
Any call to any Geopath API is treated as a single call against the organization’s monthly limit regardless of size or return.
All members will be held responsible for any Geopath API usage beyond their monthly allotment. The cost for calls beyond the set limit is $15 per 1,000 calls.
